I love the way Finn puffs himself up when he's trying to be heroic, and how quickly he deflates.
Also, Oscar Issac does such an amazing job making Poe a real character with almost nothing to go off of.

Rogue I did this even better, but having recently watched the OT, I'm reminded at how much more tactile this movie is
I think I may actually like the tie fighter escape more than the first falcon chase.

given how young Hux and Ren are it kinda makes snoke feel like a child predator.

that Ren/Hux exchange about Hux's men being skilled at committing treason is like a petulant version of Vader's 'humor'

okay, the falcon chase was also excellent - in particular the way the Tie's smash into the scenery

there are a lot of nice character moments with the Rath'thar stuff, but man does that sequence feel out of place. They should have found a different way to introduce solo.

it's so much fun watching harrison ford play han again. I hope Luke feels the same way.

I wonder how long the wookipedia pages are for these two gangs that do nothing in this movie.

I do like when solo throws that guy into the raththar's mouth, even if the effect isn't great.

Solo has a lot of really good lines in this. Is Kasden writing the solo movie?

I hope a more fleshed out Snoke in later films enables us to read more back into the performance in FA. It is pretty underwhelming.

Snoke's doubting of Ren's commitment was a nice touch. It helps shape where Ren is coming from.

Also Maz just doesn't work for me. While I prefer Donnie Yen's character in R1, either have jedi or don't. These stand ins aren't cutting it.

I wonder if Ren would have been as compelling a character if the prequels didn't fuck up Anakin as badly as they did

this movie definitely needed something like starkiller base. The first order needed a super weapon to justify Finn's fear, and to reset the balance of power. I just wish it wasn't starkiller base.

the pacing in this movie is brisk enough that it's not a big deal, but the rath'thar/Maz sequence is easily the low point of the movie.
