there are a lot of 'framed by a doorway' shots in this movie. Does that have a technical name?

The scene where Ren is stalking rey in the forest feels like it was pulled from Jurassic Park

the light speed through the shield thing is silly, but the crash is great. I love the shot of the falcon crashing through the trees.

Ren is clearly troubled by killing solo. It's a pretty great performance by Adam Driver. It's all in the eyes and the slight twitches in the face

I love how Ren sees himself as the victim going into the final exchange with Finn/Rey

The aeriel assault is really good, but all the major aerial sequences are great. This one holds up, but (I'll need to see R1 again) it may be the weakest of all of them. I think that's my favorite light saber fight in any of the movies, however.
The shot of Chewie alone in the cockpit is pretty sad.

the end is just slightly overlong, but I'm not sure what I'd cut.

yes I am. The R2 stuff. They just should have had R2 wake up the first time they return, and just make the decision to go find him after they deal with the threat to the planet.

I can't say this is the best star wars movies. The OT, TFA, and R1 all have flaws and all have things they excel at. But this might be my favorite Star Wars movie.
