Yeah it’s good. Pike’s vocal performance is particularly impressive; he’s going harder than usual. All their albums are solid (though I think Blessed Black Wings towers above the others).

Agree that they've never dropped a stinker. Perhaps the most consistent metal band ever. Snakes was my fav. for a long while but I think De Vermis may have overtaken it. I really enjoy Jeff Mattz' riffin' and writin' on that one.

Listening to Weezer's Pinkerton during the World Cup. This might be a hyper-specific reference, but that album had an absolute stranglehold on any small town high school soccer player's discman back in the 90s. The album was the definition of "alternative" for kids like me who chose soccer over football or basketball.

Pinkerton is a universal record.

You could replace "theater kid" with "kids who chose soccer" and your sentiment would still ring true.
