A lot of (very understandable) attention being given to Weinstein this morning, but a major issue has unfolded this week that's been getting comparatively less attention involving Paige Patterson and the Southern Baptist Convention, which as the second largest organized religious denomination in the US means it's plenty newsworthy.

Patterson, until this week the president of the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, one of the denomination's key theological schools, had been under fire for a while regarding cretinous attitudes towards women in general, but a story broke earlier in the week about how he had prevented a seminary student from reporting her rape over a decade ago. Patterson's been made 'president emeritus' rather suddenly in what clearly seems to be a whitewash, but it's very notable that Al Mohler, president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and a major figure in his own right, has written a piece all but saying worse is due to come.

That's all very interesting but are we really just going to gloss over the fact that he is standing right next to A GHOST?

Here we have actual, tangible evidence of a ghostly apparition, effectively proving that there is life beyond our bodily deaths, possibly even a God, and all we can talk about is some rapes he may have done? Ridiculous
