Update: Upon checking his Instagram he did not get a new set. He was just playing Lars Ulrich's drumset in a studio.

His most recent post (after the Lars one) is thanking DW for some new drum hardware, so you're not totally wrong.

A friend of mine attended a bonfire in Hawaii last summer. Ed was there too
There was a guy playing bongos that night that Ed really bonded with.
He also knows Boom, meditates, burns incense, and knows lots of things about the waves, the stars, and the universe.
