My point was really that I see no evidence of my school district doing anything with COVID money other than hiring a bunch of Assistant Directors. The sanitizer wasn't the be all solution to COVID, it was meant to represent the barest minimum that anyone could do.

Our district just keeps hiring administration staff. There was a local watchdog group that had collected budgets prior to COVID showing a growing percentage of money going to salaries of district employees at the administration building for the district. It's not necessarily related to COVID, and I don't know how much it continues, but it's fresh in my head b/c my kid's middle school principal just left for a newly created administrative position.

You can write that comment off as parental bitching.

The answer is dependent upon what level of immunosuppression you're talking about. The kind of people who are getting that 3rd dose of Pfizer are people with essentially NO immune system (bone marrow issues, organ transplants with drugs suppressing the immune system, lack of spleen, or chemo patients) and yeah, their terror level was always high. These are people who stayed at home and wiped everything down and wore surgical masks in public.

If you're talking about people with shitty immune systems (the elderly, pregnant women, diabetics, etc.). They varied, and they died at higher rates than the general public, but even flu doesn't put these people in the hospital and the grave as reliably as COVID. Not to mention, your body has some ability to deal with flu because flu is always around in some form. Even shitty immune systems fair better against flu than a novel virus. So, yeah, smart folks in this group were careful, but didn't have to take the same level of precaution we're currently asking them to take.

thats the problem he is either not comprehending or doesnt care about

not everyone has the same immune system. do certain characteristics (such as what b mentioned) play a part in that? surely. but there are people that look like verb that youd never know had a bad immune system for whatever reason and these are the people those of us who choose to wear a mask are trying to protect

You were right the first time my evenbro. The more they are attacked, the more they will harden. Trump's election totals are a good illustration of that. Employers mandating the vaccine now that it's approved will probably be the most effective path forward if the goal is get more people vaccinated.
