it could go either way. it's so cheesy, but musically i could see Mike & Stone ripping it up enough to forgive Ed's vocal melody.

Im not sure who pointed out the bass in this song (Harmless maybe?), but once I read that I went back in and focused on it to get a good sense and the song really is growing on me after that. Good call.

Definitely sounds ITW'ish, but the way it takes off around the solo sets it apart. Jeff and Mike make this song a keeper.

Getaway is my favorite so far for lyrical and musical quality. Swallowed Whole is the only one that is taking multiple listens to sink in.

Wish I was a part of listening to this. Can't unzip things and it looks like I don't have any friends here.

The fadeouts are bad and they happen too quickly, especially if you listen carefully. The cut-off points are too abrupt.

That's a good point. I think it's a lot worse these days though because Pearl Jam has become a bit of a caricature of its former self, making the more standard parts of the songs even more bland.

And I didn't say parts were that original, just interesting. Let The Records Play for a few seconds sounds like it's going to be a really cool, sideways, crunchy number right up until the point Ed opens his mouth. Not that Ed is the only problem, but that's the moment the song starts to suck.

First play through on headphones and definitely a different experience (in a good way!). Just wish we'd have gotten 256k rips.

And the fade out on LB didn't bother me much, but wish it had faded to black just before Mike was about to unleash rather than a half-second into that. . . . .

i really like from 3:08 to 3:11 of LtRP. The rest is a little better than meh.

is LTRP their most generic bar band sounding song to date?

i can't think of another that's this close... like Red Mosquito is blues-y, but it's not generic

One of these had elements that reminded me of I will follow by U2. Not sure which one.

I gotta think that fade out wont be as abrupt on the album.
