Yknow. Fantasy is probably the very worst served genre in all film.

Outside LOTR they're all shockingly awfully bad.

*im gonna put that down to the power of fantasy lying in the written word and the readers imagination. And lack of budget in film terms. Not even with the biggest budget possible it's more likely a fantasy film is a disaster than a success creatively speaking.

Everything above Warcraft on my list is really good. Conan the Barbarian is one of the greatest movies ever made.

Yeah, kinda. It's fantasy but it's a different kind of world. Gods and mortals, not wizards and dragons.

No, but I've always wanted to. I wish it were on Netflix or something; the Blu-ray costs a little more than I'm comfortable with for a blind-buy.

fantasy is my favorite literary genre but it is so unimpressive in theaters outside of LOTR
