There was conflict. Lanegan had substance abuse issues and was as stubborn as a mule. Who knows what the final straw was, but yeah, they were done.

Still got love for their fallen brother, though.

Man, I really want to hear this new version of God is in the Radio.

AFAIK, they'd never previously played it without Mark.

It'll be up any minute now. Pinkpop have been pretty good about rolling out sets on their YT.

I'd say they did a pretty damn good job of it. Loved that controlled lull. Mikey Shoes is just the best.

Sounded very good to me.

One of their best songs, maybe the best.

I don't think there was any bad blood by any means between them and lanegan. Just drugs and not wanting that around. To the extent that lanegan was involved.

I saw qotsa with homme and grohl at a record release party for songs for the deaf at the 400 bar in mpls.

One of the most incredible experiences of my life.

For reference - 400 bar is tiny. It's a local dive bar. My band played there a few times to like 10 people and it felt packed.

I remember seeing lanegan just slowly saunter up side stage ....grab the mic stand - darkened - and deliver.

Wild

Basically what I'm trying to say is: what the actual fuck, Strat?
Way you used to and feet don't fail me now are perfect for the record the vibe and the producer utilized.

After those two songs it goes to standard queens songs but with production that doesn't match.

I'll revisit but...I remember always trying really hard to love it.

Man alive, Made to Parade is top notch QOTSA. The 2nd half of the song/lyrics just hit me. The extended outro is fantastic, really lets the song breathe; these kind of outros are so rare these days. Normally not a fan of fade outs too, but this one...god damn it's great.

Yep, the second half of the song is terrific.

I'm yet to hear this in one sitting. I've heard all tracks around 4 times now.

I find that many tracks work better in an album setting than in isolation. I found Negative Space to be rather flat verging on boring when by itself but after PM it's a refreshing in its simplicity (although nothing on this album is really simple).

This is a grower that almost encompasses all aspects of Josh-qotsa in one neat album.

It really does have everything except that S/T chug buzz.

Listened to a pile of tracks on my way home from work in the car and they sounded fab.
