I took a break from this song yesterday and hearing it again today, I like it better than I did after the first few listens. Funny how that works.

There is something about the melody or cadence in the pre-chorus that gives me "Rival" vibes

It's still too slick for me. I wish it felt grittier. But it's grown on me

It’s a good song.

No cringy stuff in any of those notes.

That’s what matters most to me, the melody.

DM is just right in that department.

On first listen of this song, it grabbed me pretty well at the outset (probably a 3.5 at that point), suffered a little at the bridge which sounded pretty basic though unexpected, and then TOOK OFF FOR THE MOON at the solo! At that point I was blissed out so much and the song has since been a 4.5 or 5 for me every time I listen. I appreciate the bridge more now.

Something about the delivery of the first couple of lines (before the first mention of “dark matter”) reminds me of the first couple of lines of “Save you”. It’s really not that similar, but something about the way Ed delivers or phrases the syllables.

"oh please don't go out on me, don't go on me now"

this song isn't quite that tempo but I hear the ghost of it in the delivery

My kid picked out the slick production right away, but he's heard Earthling, Every Loser, and Hackney Diamonds and he knows the Watt playbook.

Someone in another forum or Reddit had said "Blood+Save You" and while I don't think that's entirely accurate, energetically it's close
