They are just listed as the 3rd song under featured. I don't think that is a ranking.

The difficulty with this song is about much more than this song. For some, it's part of a long line of disappointing aspects of the new Pearl Jam who are a different band than the one they signed up for. I can't take that away from anyone, and I feel it to some extent myself.

I kinda like that there is still drama after 23 years... And nobody but diehard fans gives a shit about PJ anymore. Most people are generally positive about the band. The only 3 negative comments I ever get about Pearl Jam are "I didn't know they were still around" "I hate Eddie Vedder's voice" and "I liked their first few albums but everything after that is shit".

This is a getting weird. One song has polarized the whole community. That seems rather crazy to me. We all wanted this band to step out on a limb, or did we? We all wanted them to break out of their comfort zone. Then some say I am not comfortable with this song I am not comfortable with my own fandom. Sirens as a song comes from a well that Pearl Jam have never used, but we know 80's rock has to be a influance for this band. Mother Love Bone and Shadow hold idea this up really well. I for one am very glad they made this song . I am glad they trusted themselves enough to make it. I am glad they are not to cool or hip to put this song out. It tells me there is a future for this band, and that is fantastic.

I was just saying I feel we wanted something of a experiment from this band and after they went into the chem lab and the class exploded so many were like wtf.

Music is so easily available now that you can very easily go through your entire life listening primarily to music you think is great. Why waste time on music that's "pretty decent for an old band I really like"? There really is nothing wrong with saying they suck now, but still loving the old albums and the band in general.

I can see this. The road they seemed to be heading down through RA was the band I raved on and on about. How "misunderstood" they were, and how no one (outside of PJ Land) knows the really good stuff like No Code and Yield, just Ten. Songs like The Fixer and Sirens certainly make it hard to think this is the same band. I don't know how to quite articulate, but it seems they were walking down a Neil Young and Sonic Youth road, but they turned down another road and went more U2 and Rolling Stones.

Pretty much. And that's the new context against which I try to appreciate them here and there. They're always going to be part of what makes me me, for good or ill. I don't see myself ever putting them down, even if it makes me an angry, bitter old man for what they've become.
