7.5 miles in 65 minutes

Ran my favorite trail at midnight. Even with a headlamp, I clipped my foot and almost ate shit multiple times. It was still about 95 degrees or so, but had a cool(ish) desert breeze. Surprised to make it to the saddle (~the half-way point) in 31, but slowed on the backside of the mountain. Surprisingly good run. 2 more weeks of hibernation.

Got in a good one this morning, another weight/treadmill combo. I only went to the gym once the week, felt great getting a sweat going again.

12 miles in 92 minutes with ~2,000 feet elevation gain

Trail run in 110 degrees went better than expected. 50 up. 42 down. I took a hand-held, which I only drank half of. Fell on the way down, but managed a roll instead of a faceplant. 42 is just a minute off my down PR for this trail. It's technical as fuck and I'm pretty happy to average 7-minute miles on this fucker in 110 degree heat. I'm gonna kill this trail this winter.

10 miles in 69 minutes

Left the house at 5:30 and it was already 90 degrees. I took my stupid-ass FuelBelt with me which I slung into a bush about a mile in because I couldn't get it to fit right. Hit the turnaround in 35. On the way back I did some quarter-mile fartleks. Back in 34. Of course I forgot to pick up the FuelBelt on the way back, so ended up doing 2 extra cool down miles (for 12 total) to retrieve it.

Oh yeah, mixed in some extra pushups with yesterday's routine. Apparently it was enough to leave my chest & upper arms a little tight today. But that's not a bad thing, right?

Finished last in my age group in the triathlon. 30th out of 30 finishers. Felt good just to finish it. Could have come in 29th but a slowed down a couple times to chat with the one legged guy doing it. I think my time was better spent talking to and being inspired by him than coming in 29th. Next up Tough Mudder Seattle.
