I wonder what the splits are for non dome playoff teams.

FWIW: I am actually with PhatJ here. The rooney rule is important and has value. But when a vacancy is created JUST GO GET A SPECIFIC GUY AND EVERYONE KNOWS IT? The rule does nothing to increase minority candidates opportunities.

The only thing Id like to see is that when a coach is fired, the organization is allowed to submit ONE name of a target prior to conducting a single interview. If they get that one guy? Fine. No fines or punishment. If not? Complete and total interview process.

However, I then think that the Rooney Rule should be expanded to Assistant Head Coach/Coordinator positions.

and to spike's point. Yes. They satisfied the rule as written. By interviewing candidates after they had already made up their mind and who their coach was going to be was already public knowledge. That's why i said they skirted the rule, not violated it.

But if you fire a coach because one guy has become available (either let go elsewhere, or decides to get back into it), then cursory interviews seem pointless.

This game is a waste of time.

god, this post reminds me of my boozing days. my best friend and roommate worked the 6pm to close shift at a nearby bar on saturdays; i'd be bellying up right around now.
