Watched A Man Called Ove again, this time with my wife and son. Still cried. Though at this point, am I crying because of the book and I'm filling in some blanks or is the movie that good as well? It's weird. Also I freely admit it's probably because of what I said in the other post about Miss You Already: Maybe it's not the movie at all, just stress lowering my defenses.

What the hell is the deal with Wet Hot American Summer? I think I laughed maybe four times. No one in the movie was likeable and everyone was an asshole. Is it because almost everyone in the movie is famous now and I'm used to them? Would it have been better if I watched it upon release?

Filth was fucking strange. I probably should have read the book first because now I have a very strong aversion to reading the book ever. It was just so...mean's not even the right word.

It's probably the single funniest movie ever made, that's "the hell is the deal with it."

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. Castaway is fine if like over the top directing and a one of kind performance. Tom Hanks makes that movie. Everything else about it is stupid. There's literally a 20 minute montage of a camera ON A FEDEX PACKAGE. Zemeckis is insane.
1. Please define "over the top" directing.
2. There literally is not a 20 minute montage of a camera on a FedEx package.

My wife got a hold of the remote today and we watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2. I have seen the original multiple times and think it is genuinely funny, but this one's strategy was to just take everything funny about the first one and make it a call-back or EXTREME. Just not a good movie.

"What we do in the shadows"

This was great. Was worried the premise would wear thin, but it work.

I thought it was entirely mediocre as well.

Development[edit]

The film's financing took three years to assemble; in a June 2011 interview, Wain revealed the film's budget was $1.8 million; he noted that during the 2001 Sundance Film Festival,[6] the film had been promoted as costing $5 million, in an attempt to attract a better offer from a distributor.[1] Because of the film's relatively small budget, the cast was paid very little; Paul Rudd has stated that he is uncertain that he received any compensation at all for the film.[7]
I mean, I wouldn't pay for that performance either.

Yea? For the whole thing? I've been on the fence about watching it for a long time.
I would advise against watching the trailer because it's loaded with spoilers, but yeah, but the wife and I laughed through the whole thing.

I say again:
Next up: Hunt for the Wilderpeople!
And then Thor: Ragnarok.

Searching for that and found out they released another one. Not as funny, but I'm still excited for the movie.

WWDITS is okay but it has got to be one of the most overrated movies in recent years.
