it's cool you're close enough to walk though.

Went yesterday to a big book fair that happens every year here. Got a Nick Cave book; an Ocean Voung one and a comic book.

Then saw Thunderbolts and got home kinda late. Woke up today and its rainy but i had to go to the bank so afterwards got some coffee and just chill there for a bit.

VG's posts always shine a light on just how different the American working life is, and I hate it so much!

woke up and walked to a coffee shop, then took a lyft to another coffee shop where we had more coffee and ate breakfast. Then took another lyft to some super fancy strip of high-end shops where my wife bought a candle, and I bought two of the most comfortable pair of pants I may ever in my life own. currently back at the bnb to rest up before meeting up with the wease’s.

Managed to get out for a dusky. The surf was questionable, the ability of the surfer more so. Caught a couple of waves, and after a while just started getting frustrated with the surf. Decided - one last wave, and that last wave I managed to ride into shore.....well knee depth

Holy shit I wish my dad didn’t have a cell phone. He texts me out of the blue earlier wanting to go see The Who. This is their last tour ever. The first date is Aug 16 in Sunset Georgia. Curious, I look it up and no, their first date is in Sunrise Florida. So I tell him and also tell him the closest date to us is Chicago. Then he tells me Good Morning America said it was Sunset Georgia and he rewinds it three times and every time they said Sunset Georgia. So I go to Ticketmaster and take a screenshot of the first date to show him what the actual location is.

Then he tells me there’s a date in South Carolina that’s closer than Chicago. So I look at all the dates again and tell him no, there is no date in South Carolina. Chicago is the closest. He responds that Wikipedia says they’re playing South Carolina. So I send him the link to the official The Who website tour page and again emphasize that no, there is no South Carolina date.

Then he throws out there it can be his birthday present and Mrs Wease and Mema Wease can go too. So now in his view, I’m paying for four tickets for a concert I don’t even want to go to and will have to find accommodations in a city he still doesn’t believe is the closest show to us.

It’s just too much this morning.

ey, him wanting to see the who automatically puts him in the cool kids list on my book.

But yeah, my mom writes me every day with all the different types of requests you can think of, specially of course everything relating to apps, series, movies, tickets...yeah i know the feeling.

Im very happy this is happening and like i say, one day it wont happen again, so im glad we are still all here.

But yeah sometimes i feel it can happen with a little more time in between

It’s not seeing the show, it’s him continuing to argue with me after I present evidence proving what he’s saying is wrong. As if GMA and Wikipedia are the be-all and end-all of knowledge of this tour and are better informed than Ticketmaster and The Who’s website.

i'm just laughing at the coincidence with your old(er) father gravitating toward Sunset vs. Sunrise.

I did, in fact, notice that.

Pretty cool having a dad still, wease. I think about mine every day. Can’t believe it’s been 13 years.
