I'm ready for more
I mostly post on mobile, and can't seem to edit a pic down to size. So you're stuck with this.Bammer wrote:I don’t like this back and forth between the two of you without avatars. It’s distracting. Get avatars.
I'm itching to hear "River Cross"; both "spare ballads" on Riot Act are gorgeous to me, and I want to see if this album can approach themghost wrote:You guys think they'll release one more single before the album drops? One of the ballads, probably.
I hope not.ghost wrote:You guys think they'll release one more single before the album drops? One of the ballads, probably.
its possible, hope a little No Code is in there too.Mike wrote:Will this album just be Backspacer pretending to be Binaural?
Hopefully, well get River Cross before .ghost wrote:You guys think they'll release one more single before the album drops? One of the ballads, probably.
I think Backspacer would have been more enjoyable if it was more like Binaural.Mike wrote:Will this album just be Backspacer pretending to be Binaural?
yeah I was never averse to "sounds a bit like Backspacer" in principle, the problem (for me) is just that it's not very good; a much better attempt at Backspacer flavoured with Binaural / Riot Act sounds like more than I ever hoped for at this pointTheTVtalkstome wrote:I think Backspacer would have been more enjoyable if it was more like Binaural.Mike wrote:Will this album just be Backspacer pretending to be Binaural?
The problem with backspacer is that it didn’t do what the band wanted it to do. It was a good idea but a poor execution. For me there was some legit listenable songs. Got some probably being the strongest of the bunch and pulls off the concept of the album the best. Other than that I am not ashamed to say I enjoyed amongst the waves but feel like it needed more of Mike than just that solo (best part of the song) and Force of Nature was good but those songs were not strong enough to carry an album of C sides... Lightning Bolt also suffers from to many weak songs and not being a cohesive collection of an album. It’s like the band just didn’t have anything to say and no point to make so they just threw together whatever they could muster up. Pearl Jam make better music when Ed has a good story to tell or a point to make. My fear is that he has run out of material. If out of Gigaton we get something new that really works ah la DOTC or something with hints of Binaural/ Riot Act I will be pleased.Ms Harmless wrote:yeah I was never averse to "sounds a bit like Backspacer" in principle, the problem (for me) is just that it's not very good; a much better attempt at Backspacer flavoured with Binaural / Riot Act sounds like more than I ever hoped for at this pointTheTVtalkstome wrote:I think Backspacer would have been more enjoyable if it was more like Binaural.Mike wrote:Will this album just be Backspacer pretending to be Binaural?
