When you finally do it will be glorious.
That it will
The more i think about it the more i like it
That's a great strategy, though, listen to it once, go WTF IS THAT and then go away and process.
I'm doing this thing - currently processing.
where are you at on it? you like it or hate it on first listen?

Or maybe Sirens is what Pearl Jam has been this whole time, they were just hidden under a holier-than-thou attitude and flannel shirts, and now that they are exposed the throngs of mindless worshiping fans are confused that they ever like something that wasn't "alternative".
There's a little of that, I think, even if it's not that simple. If they were ever less alternative, they were still happy to make some people think they were absolutely alternative, aesthetically and ethically. I mean, is it OK to cover up your secret cock rock leanings under an anti-establishment facade? Some would say of course, it sells records; others would say no it isn't, and that's why some people feel betrayed.

Not sure about this. This song wasn't inside Ed... or even Mike... 10 years ago

I think I might have to rock out Sirens a few more times this weekend just because I want my wife to hear it... I think she'll really appreciate it. (I'm sorry to say but Backspacer is probably the only PJ album she likes

)
But after that, it's 3 weeks of cold turkey... and I mean it this time!

I'm not saying I think any of this happened. I just think they got older and the ranting and railing became less of a priority. To me it doesn't mean they've abandoned all of their values. But to others it does, and I'm just saying I can accept and understand their point of view.

It's my least favorite too, Stip.

I'm actually thinking about banning myself from any other threads outside of this one for the last 3 weeks... That should help make things go along much more swiftly and maybe a little less painful

The anti -establishment facade wasn't a facade at all it was authentic. So was the cock rock if that is what you want to call it Shadow and Motherlovebone it bled a bit into Ten , because Ed was trying to be the lead singer these guys wanted. Vs came and Ed and Stone had a bit of tug of war. I don't think there was a winner as much as stone saw Ed and what a great artist he could be so he let go of the rope. Vitology came that was Ed's baby and it was great Ed's spirit was in a really great place to make a album like that. No Code was about tension and friendships evolving. I really think if not for BoB and Jack this band may have fell apart. Then Yield a rebirth of the band. 2000 tour another expansion of the band. Now we are here fans of a band that feel they can get away with whatever they want nothing to hind behind they have become who they are they are finally who they are and willing to show us. You may not like Pearl Jam in 2013 cause you are who you are, but rest easy knowing you had them when you did. You will always have the era that means the most to you.

No.
Not until album 11 is released in 2016. Only then will I be able to appreciate it.
