THE worst time for a baseball fan is when your team is in the 6th inning, down in an elimination game. Panic, fear, just about every negative emotion one can feel is starting to creep in.

Although the David Ortiz Love this season is a bit overdone. I understand he's had a monster series, but the guy's got some baggage that fans seem to overlook.

Congrats to all you Red Sox fans out there. Your team outplayed mine and you deserved to be champions.

I can't wait until next year.

ugh Cards... i wanted a game 7!!!!!

It is amazing what Ortiz did in the W.S. considering he was what, 3 inches away from going 0-for-the ALCS

Tigers vs Dodgers next year calling it now

For those curious, we got Release in the postgame montage, and a lengthy Future Days bit in the Tim McCarver retirement piece.

EDIT: and we close with none other than YL.

The NL next year goes through St. Louis. I hate to sound like a douchebag homer fan but consider:

1) Half of the players on the Cardinals are 27 and under;
2) They have a loaded farm system and a top 5 prospect who will be up next year to replace Carlos Beltran in right (Oscar Tavares)
3) They have $40 million coming off the books (Chris Carpenter, Jake Westbrook, Carlos Beltran and Rafael Furcal are all free agents)

They managed to win 97 games this year despite missing 2 starters and their closer and with their SS and 3B be a black hole of awful. I can only assume the Cardinals will be very aggressive this winter in finding a new SS and CF.

I'm finally ready for hot stove season.

The "95 years since they won in Boston" is the dumbest narrative perpetuated by the sports media ever.
