Not sure if it's been mentioned but Boom was playing keys on Setting Sun.

Ooh we're doing ratings? Ok
5 Stars
Wreckage
Got To Give
Sounds harsh, but I consider 5-stars to mean like one of the best songs in the entire catalog (or at least that's how I feel today lol), so I'm kind of amazed to be awarding two of them.... I think these two songs are better than anything on Gigaton (though Dance of the Clairvoyants, Comes Then Goes, and Seven O'Clock would be my highlights there). I think these songs belong in the pantheon of amazing Pearl Jam songs.
4.75 Stars
Waiting for Stevie (I REALLY like it and have been singing it a lot. I dunno why I put it slightly below the others. It's a bit loud for me, which is an odd criticism. I don't notice so much when I listen on its own but sometimes when I listen to the album I wish it would quiet down a bit by this point...I think I mostly mean the sound of Eddie's voice.)
4.5 Stars
Something Special (I dont care what people say I love this one)
Setting Sun
4.25 Stars
React/Respond (I loved it first listen, then it went down, now its working its way back up)
4 Stars
Scared of Fear (This is continually growing on me, and might rise out of this tier by next week. The live version was awesome. I don't love it on its own, but like Last Exit, it is growing on me as an album opener that sets the tone without giving too much away)
Upper Hand
3.5 Stars
Won't Tell (I like it but the chorus is a bit too cheesy for me)
3.25 Stars
Running (Hated it as a single but its pretty fun on the album)
3 Stars
Dark Matter (This is verging on lower tbh)

You know, Eddie Vedder's face reminds me of Norm MacDonald's face when he was late in life and battling cancer. It makes me sad to think that way, but he doesn't look like he's put on weight as much as just swollen, which can be a side effect of medication

This is further evidence that Matt Cameron wants to make Pearl Jam worse. Leatherman? And then Eddie wants to play a Wellwater song? Get a room and a different tour, you two.dad wrote:Zane Lowe asked each of them if there were any songs they've not played in a while that they'd like to break out on tour.
Stone said they've been practicing Can't Keep for the tour.
Jeff would like to play Mirrorball songs w/Neil Young at Ohana.
Matt would like to play Leatherman and Setting Forth on tour.
Ed would like to play Felicity's Surprise (Wellwater Conspiracy).
Mike would like to play a cover from an Aussie band? can't recall. I could've misheard it.

Big news coming out of that interview, folks.
Josh & Wottman handling all guitar duties for the tour.
Stone & Mike staying home.

We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

Leatherman is a dud. It's dull musically and lyrically. In the age where setlists are getting shorter, getting Leatherman would be akin to robbery. Here I stand.dad wrote:playing Leatherman makes them worse? do wut now?lvc wrote:This is further evidence that Matt Cameron wants to make Pearl Jam worse. Leatherman? I love leatherman. Still perplexed why it wasn't on lost dogs.
