So, it's Monday. Are we ready to burn this movie to the ground with our rage, yet?
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

I really like Hux's speech before Starkiller Base destroys the Hosnian system.

Well I'll be damned. I'm sorry I just can't tell when I'm being trolled in this forum anymore. To to me that was the worst scene with the worst character played by an actor I hate in a movie I mostly disliked. Dear heavenly lord.

I'm not sure, but I think we have pretty different tastes on a lot of things.

Also, the way he plays it is... kinda the point. It's supposed to be super-over-the-top-uber-villain-Hitler-y. The words are trite by design. The scene takes a lot of heat that I'm not sure is deserved. But I totally get why people hate it so much. I think it's spot on and helps us understand who Hux is as well as how he sees himself in the grand scheme.

I've said it before, but I think Domhnall Gleeson is excellent as Hux. I can't imagine him being any different.

The way Hux is in the scene is informed by the way he got his job, I think.

Joey has a great talent defending really bad scenes of SW.

I go both ways on that scene A t first I hated it because it felt so comical and over the top. Though im beginning to realize that this trilogy is all about the recklessness of youth and all characters struggling to become the leaders they are destined to be. This immaturity shines through with Hux in other various aspects of the story thus far. That whole show he puts on is an obvious attempt at making himself seem more important and fearful than he actually. Compare that with how Ren and Snoke treat him.

Its still a bit over the top to watch but i get it now. He's a child lashing out.

I love Hux and the portrayal of him. I don't like how he's being handled, if that makes sense. Especially in TLJ.

Rian also really nailed and drove home the idea that The First Order is obsessed with bigness, with size and the appearance of might. Hux's delivery and this scene in general really lends itself to that. The biggest flaw in The First Order is that they can't see the little things.

I know we don't want to keep throwing real life politics into Star Wars but it really does parallel that whole Trump attitude of "biggest" "smartest" "best" "richest" "winning."
