I like how even Jeff was wowed when Eddie showed the old console that the original Mamason demo was recorded on.

I'm curious which studios Ed was talking about when he said "we just knew where we didn't want to record", when talking about Rick Rubin coming to the rescue.

Incredible to finally see footage of the warehouse and to see the guys on professional video acting fairly normal and candid.
Hoping someone here is gonna post stills of some nerdy shit.

Yes Matt's snare from the 1998/2000 era was pure pure perfection. The same one he used for Soundgarden.

Wow Mike looks so distressed the entire interview. 40 mins in and he hasn't said anything.

Wonder if the girl who sold Eddie the 4 track is aware of it. It didn't seem like someone he really knew all that welll.
So much cool shit in this interview.

That interview needs its own thread. Incredible.

My favorite part was the softball setup for Ed to say that Wreckage came from some place heavy and personal, and instead he said “No. I just wanted to go home.”
Also the blank stares when he talked about legendary Wrigley Field (or wherever, I forget) shows.

that was remarkable. Very moving at the end.
It is crazy to think about that four track. That sale changed the lives of millions of people. It changed the history of music. When you think about how much joy it fed into the world.

$400 and he'd had it for 5ish years. I paused it and just stared at it. Like you said, millions of lives were changed forever. Mine was one. I'm glad I got to see it

Wonderful interview. Just so cool to see hq in such detail. As he did with the earthling interview with Ed in Chicago, he really got the band to let their guard down, particularly Ed and Jeff. Mike did seem off, but you never know what gets cut from the session. Just over and hour makes the final edit from probably 2 hours of filming, questioning….if not more. He seemed completely present when Zane directed a line of questioning at him. His answers about getting in the zone and not thinking Vs being intentional and writing parts to fit lyrics/ or the song writ large were cogent and substantive.
Can’t wait to see the band in Aug/Sept.
I feel so re energized by this record and I can feel they do too.
I think I speak for us all when I say the following regarding our love affair with this band:
May our days, be long til kingdom come!!

really cool tour of hq, as others have said. can't believe they've taken so long to show it to everyone. really nice to see some setting sun performance at the end - wish they'd upload the whole thing.

30 min. into the interview but have to come back to it. They seem like they're in a good place. Even Mike lol
And Mike's shredding on React, Respond yeah that's something else. Don't know I've heard that from PJ before. I got some Omar Rodriguez Lopez / Mars Volta vibes in the best way. We need to hear the whole thing!

Leatherman is legitimately a top 10 song for me.
I must've heard it a hundred times on Touring Band 2000 and thought it was kinda goofy, cool, but didn't think much of it. Somewhere along the way it clicked. I really think hearing the studio version for the first time did it for me.
Need to find the Barrie 1998 recording. Thanks for the suggestion Clem Halibut.
