So the fact that anyone is calling THIS "Dad Rock" is entirely generational. In and of itself, it's just music.

I don't know where you're getting that era or time has anything to do with what makes something MOR or mommy rock, but its nothing to with that.

do you think these songs reflect a biological aging process that affects most musicians, or that these songs are being self-consciously crafted to bring in a new market of soccer moms, or that the tastes of pearl jam's fans are atrophying and that this is the band responding to that change?

It's Hard is a pretty good record. Flawed, MOR-ish, and missing all the bite and danger of earlier Who...but kind of fun.

Oh yeah latter Who had it's moments, just like 80's Queen. Still the drop off is huge...I don't think PJ's drop of is as steep....of course maybe they weren't as high up the mountain.

Swallowed Whole. Man, that is another REM tune like "You Are," which one person said was the best song REM never wrote. So, I love this since REM is my second fav band. This tune is great. I can hear Peter Buck. Very nice.

LB. Better than Wrigley. Still struggling with the chorus, but this could get better. Man, the fade out sucks...this should have gone a few min longer
