I know Lambda was of interest a month or so ago. Assume they’ve used the rest too, they just didn’t make enough waves to mention.

The pulmonologist that my wife has to see can't see her until October. Turns out at least locally, anyone that wants to go to ER or even Urgent Care that doesn't have COVID, they are assessing over phone/video and sending them right to specialists that they think can help whatever the non-COVID "issue" is. So now these specialists are getting overwhelmed because they are seeing an uptick in patients that could otherwise be treated by an Urgent Care doctor for something minor or at least not life threatening.

You don't walk in anywhere with a feverish kid. You call.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

This too shall pass. Stupid while it's happening but it will pass, and then come around again and then pass yet again.

Sorry but no. I have in the past taken my kid into ER late on a Christmas Eve because he was very feverish and non-stop puking. Never felt bad about it, that's what it is there for.

I mean, not an easy pill to swallow while my wife is having daily breathing problems but you know, cool, hope it passes soon. "just part of the medical care cycle in the U.S.", right? :/

She's ok. Her breathing is better but she really can't do anything without getting out of breath. Like not even driving the kids to school. So I make her stay put but it is driving her crazy.

That sucks. Sorry if you already said, but is this an issue she's had before or is this out of left field?

She's had mild allergy-related asthma but something recently triggered something more. They still think it just turned into a bad bronchial infection and she is on some steroids and inhaler, but it has been a month now with little relief. Everyone she sees or any friends/family she knows that have experience with this say it sometimes can last that long. But seeing her struggle to get good breaths is always worrisome. But she checks her BP and pulse ox hourly, everything is always fine. They'll do chest xrays in October to make sure it isn't anything else, and I think that is the part that makes her panic. Having to wait over a month to "make sure it isn't anything else".

That sounds really frustrating. Hopefully it'll start improving soon.

Obviously, I was not referring to a situation so severe that it required an ER visit.

Maybe if its job related. I wouldn't be so sure "doing things" will be a motivator. People who haven't been vaccinated yet don't want to be. They aren't going to do it just so they can sit at the United Center with a mask on in a lame sterile environment.
