So first off, for those of you who were upset by this I do sincerely apologize (I was starting worry about hurt feelings by the end). This whole thing was conceived of as a joke we hoped people we enjoy. The people who fell for it would appreciate the craft, and those who didn't would like watching it happen. Plus we were hoping some of the other sites would pick up on it, and so in a lot of ways this was conceived for the people who follow TSIS on facebook, to see what made it to the pit, etc.
Originally B approached me about making up a fake album post on the day a few weeks ago when we reached the official longest wait between albums. I suggested that we turn this into an april fool's joke. We were originally going to make this an album leak, but then when a Jeff or Mike interview made it clear that it wasn't finished we turned it into the demos.
We debated releasing the mp3s on april fools, and I lobbied to push it a few days further back to make it more believable, and managed to convince B and Chud and a few of the other people who were helping us come up with ideas.
And just to be clear--there are no demos. After we came up with the song titles I came up with some brief descriptions and sent them to Chud to write up something longer (the descriptions from the leaker). And then once those were posted I wrote the longer song descriptions based on whatever Chud said. It took about an hour to write all six.

first of all, this was a really good april fool's prank. I feel bad that maybe it was a mean one, but it was good
