Which is interesting. Because I don't hear it as similar to either of those songs. In fact, I looked at your post sideways when I read it. But I also dislike both Unthought Known and Lightning Bolt. Love Boat Captain, for me, is infinitely better than those pretty weak and limp tracks.

Unthought Known is both similar and much worse at the same time.

Agreed, though I think the all you need is love lyric is one of Eddie's worst. Still LBC works for me despite it because of the other strong aspects

It's sad to see Get Right and Thumbing My Way and Love Boat Captain gone though
