I would, however, like to try that game that had the whole crew hooked except for young Wesley. Everyone was like aroused all the time, what could have possibly gone wrong?

I can appreciate why he might feel that such a decision is (ironically) reductionist, in a way, but I think Pegg is right when he says introducing a new gay character would have left them defined by that.
It's nothing to do with Pegg, but I would be more impressed if the captain of the new show was gay or something.
