LA Takedown are made up of members of Tortoise and YMO and they just released "Our Feeling Of Natural High". They do a kind of 80's cinematic revivalist thing, and I have to say I'm seriously digging the opening track - "There is a Drone in Griffith Park". Check it:

I'm on the Topshelf Records mailing list because I bought El Ten Eleven's Banker's Hill in 2018, and as a promotion I got a free download of this new album, the full-length debut of Addy, the recording project of a guy named Adam Watkins. It's a kind of slacker dream-pop/indie rock with some country flourishes. Think maybe Beach House with southern twang, violin, and pedal steel. Probably of interest to some RMers:

change to album titles and you would have had a good one.

so Weezer's album is coming out May 15th and the first single dropped on September 10th. that's gotta be the worst lead time for an album.

Imagine if her and Eddie wrote a song together. It’d sound like the Micro Machine guy.

This record by the frontman of defunct band Cymbals eat Guitars is pretty sweet:

New Mint Mile solid af as well

Hop Along is my favorite band of the last whatever years, so naturally I am super into the new Frances Quinlan record

Waxahatchee's new album which is dropping tonight leaked a while ago & I really like it, she dropped the fuzzy guitar of her previous ones and this time it's more alt-country, but the songwritting is very good.

I also love this, which I'm not sure if counts like a 2019 or 2020 record, it's like if Malkmus was the frontman of a Jangle Pop band, which is extremely my alley:

Edit: and talking of Malkmus his new album is good too
