I like that there is no discernible chorus, I think that when Ed actually sets out to write a chorus now it falls flat, but this has a rough "dashed off" wit to it, like it wasn't "fixed" to death in the PJ Hit Generator; it's messy and they kept it messy

this is my least fave PJ direction of the last several years but on its own terms, the song does what it's meant to and makes me nod my head and smile

The prediction track from the Italian Band was better.

First cut on the lyrics, anyone feel free to correct, there are a few question marks

Superblood Wolfmoon, took her away too soon
Superblood Wolfmoon, took her away too soon

I can hear you, singing in the distance
I can see you when I close my eyes

Oh, she was somewhere, and now you're everywhere
I'm feeling selfish and I want what's right

I ask for forgiveness, I'm begging myself
feeling every night get of the shelf?

Right now I feel, like a innocence? searching for a feel
hypnotonic present is how I feel
not much of anything, and the cost is life or death

A life of hopelessness, 'folks all your for business' ?
I've been hoping and I hope that lasts
I don't know anything, I could be everything
This life I love is going way too fast

Full front & I'm swollen
my face is broken
And I'm hopin that I hurt your
hopin that I hurt your
hopin that I hurt your class?

She was a stunner, & I am stunned
And the first thought or second thought was 'could be the one'
I was a prisoner, the keys & the cuffs
Yeah I was pretty fortunate to be like her?

But the world got to spinnin, always felt like it was in me
the gloves that were standing, we were all reach out for sport?

I'm in danger, seeing in the distance
I can see you when I close my eyes
oh, she was somewhere, and now you're everywhere
I'm feeling selfish and I want what's right

Ask for forgiveness, I'm begging myself
feelin angry knocking off the saaaaaaaaaame?

Superblood Wolfmoon, took her away too soon
Superblood Wolfmoon, took her away too soon
Superblood Wolfmoon, took her away too soon
Superblood Wolfmoon, took her away too soon

I can hear you, singing in the distance
I can see you when I close my eyes
Oh, she was somewhere, and now you're everywhere
I'm feeling selfish and I know want what's right

Focus on your whole business?, a life of hopelessness
I've been hoping and I hope that lasts
I don't know anything, I could've seen everything?

This life I love is going way too fast

What the fuck is that solo
I don't know The Dwarves but this song is good!
And pretty funny, Superblood Wolfmoon and We Must Have Blood have a similar atmospheric interlude(postlude?) at the end.

I feel like Superblood Wolfmoon is referencing other bands/genres I'm not familiar with and that, because the song is lacking, are required to really 'get' the song.
I actually listened to the Dwarves song after making that post and it wasn't really that similar aside from a couple brief melodic moments; I must've been remembering something different

:(

Not the direction I wanted. The opening drums hits are promising but it goes into such a SOFT ASS BASIC riff. The vocal melodies are...ok. It just honestly sounds like a cover song? It sounds like any number of punk/rock songs thatr Pearl Jam has tried to cover over the years. Way too many Ed lyrics. This is fucking spritzy.

The solo was pretty good.

For the record, I like The Getaway, Johnny Guitar, MYM, Gonna See My Friend and CANT DENY MEmore than this. (I actually like Can't Deny Me, I don't think it's half bad)

No BoB shenanigans coming through like on LB. this is a good thing. Doesn’t sound tinny at all, or like thorns poking you in your ear. Ed is in the right place in the mix. There are at least a few interesting things underneath.

I’ve listened once. I’m a bit befuddled, but the last minute or two had me fucking grooving. This is a confusing song, and my gut says that’s actually a very good sign for Gigaton. I don’t want to hear PJ do something they’ve done before. We’ve had that forever. This sounds different. It’s kinda dirty. I love some of the guitar tones in the riff. I’m really uncertain how I will feel about this song in another month or two. Hell, I’m interested to know what it will sound like on second listen. Here goes...

I think that Frankenstein-esque aspect of the song works for the song instead of hindering it, for the first time in years

McParadigm wrote:I like it. It’s a fine album track, except for some lyrics and the cut between solo and outtro.

I like the aspects that are Sonicsesque and the places where it defies expectations (that first chorus with the wordless call-and-response, the unexpected twists of the solo) most.

Performance and production remain massively improved from recent years.

For me, it's gonna come down to just how much this quality is able to grow on me. It feels possible, at least.

Song is growing on me 4th time through. But I’ve had enough. This is not a midnight song.

Perhaps car listening tomorrow will shine a new light.

I'm not sure it sounds like anything. It's very much all over the place. The first few times I listened to it I couldn't figure out where the chorus was.

The music itself & the production are good. Riff is ok for a straight forward rocker. But imo the mostly nonsensical lyrics let it down

I actually like how it doesn't have a distinct chorus

I just don't get why Mike sounds so bad. Its not the style of the solo, it's that it sounds so tinny and strained. The solo is the aural equivalent of Crohn's disease.

I think one lyric might be: "Focus on your focusness"...?
