It is way more likely that the Republicans take back the House in 2022 and immediately try to impeach Biden for assorted Hunter crimes than some sort of return to compromise in the autumn of American capitalism.

Just to clarify, I don’t see a return to compromise under Biden; I see a lot of gridlock. But at least it will be civil.
I thought it might just be an Obama thing, but the Republicans (McConnell) have seen the benefit of being obstructionists. They were rewarded for it, especially with their brainwashed following. Now, I am assuming they will increase their penchant for Trump's style of lying or making up facts.
However, some things that are making me feel really good about what just happened are small, rarely covered aspects like the secretary of education, our stance towards Saudi Arabia, rehiring the chief scientist at NOAA, etc.
