I'm ready to admit that this is a phenomenon, but I don't immediately dislike it. I think someone can do this weird voice and it can still be compelling. It turns out that Halsey seems to do it a lot and I like her stuff

On its surface, I don’t hate it and even really like some of it. But when you look behind the curtain you see it’s cheap, completely unoriginal and manipulative, like sexy baby voice from a stripper.

Having said that I believe she fits the bill. Regardless how popular this song was across the planet it seems that this is how she sounds across all songs. That's both annoying and means (like Kate Miller Heidke I posted earlier) every song ends up sounding the same.
