I've done too much aimless wandering.. I've only beaten two main bosses after 50 hours! Looked into some help and am now on a more main path. I should be powered up enough at this point to make the rest of the experience less challenging.

I think i'm in the same place

. I've gotten through a lot of minor bosses, but as far as the main bosses go i've only gotten through Godrick and Rennala. Once i beat her i got kinda lost so i looked up a game progress route guide to help. It's fucking nuts how much there is in Liurnia. I still love exploring and a lot of the time i'm just wandering aimlessly checking out shiny things, but that guide has been really helpful in keeping me on task because the quests in this game are clear as mud

I found an easy spot to farm Runes and I'm probably over-leveled to where I am in the story/boss order. Now I'm not really worried about dying and losing my precious runes.

Yeah, I got two medallion halves together with some help and activated a lift to a plateau, and now I'm cookin' baby
I love the weapon variety, and all the different ways they can be used. I'm inclined to agree this is the best game ever, as of now. I feel like a child in awe every time I play it

It’s massive, and just keeps getting bigger.
I hit 55 hours last night and have defeated 4 or 5 of the Gods with Golden Runes. I actually think I’m nearing the stretch run but just clearing out some areas. Now that I’m leveled up I feel less terrified of areas like Caelid and Dragonbarrow (minus the farming spot).

Coming out of the Plateau lift was one of my favorite moments, outside of clearing out all the Castle’s, which I enjoy.

I started as the dude in underpants with a big club. It was pretty funny beating that first giant to death in the never-nude.
I'm only ~10 hours in but I can already tell it truly is a masterpiece.

I hope I get the option to re-spec my character soon. I have so many spell and incantations but my levels aren't high enough to use them yet.

Kind of depends how you travel the map but I think that option is in Liurnia. I haven’t used it yet.

I haven't either but I think I probably should consider it. I chased some pointless stats early on and now i've got a mediocre melee/strength build. I'm basically just using my starting weapon beefed to +11, some armor i picked up real early on, a couple of spirit ash summons and a couple of basic enchantments. So much cool new stuff i'd like to try but i'm way too under leveled in those stats to even try and make up the difference now. I wouldn't mind nuking the whole thing and trying a whole new build for the mid/late game.

I'm currently using the Bloodhound Fang. Love it.
its Bloodhound Finesse move feels like cheating

The sheer number of weapons, seals, staffs, etc combined with damage scaling, buffs, ashes of war, skills and all that for each one is utterly daunting. Pretty sure i'm gonna be on NG+ before i've even got half a clue what i'm doing.

I have issues with weapon scaling and level-gating for weapons in these types of games. "Oh great, I just spent 2 hours grinding through this early dungeon/cave and got this sweet weapon that requires me to pour 20+ attribute points into something."
This game at least allows you to re-spec, but it's still not ideal. I often save most of my smithing stones for upgrading later weapons, but I feel like I'm handicapping my current weapons.

I think you can go ahead and upgrade what you have and still have enough to upgrade other weapons later. It's what I did

It's so hard to choose what to upgrade because there are so many weapons!

I can see how it's frustrating when you think of it like that. I recommend just playing around with several and just going with what feels best to you for a while and upgrading that til you find something you like more.

I currently use some claws, which are useful on quick, weaker enemies, and fun as hell,
Rosus's axe, which is heavier and more powerful for big bosses and has a sweet triple magic attack ghost summon thingy
and then that sword thingy I posted earlier, which is heaviest, takes longer to swing but is most powerful
I'm looking forward to using this Gheeza's Wheel when I have enough strength

Most weapons I can’t use. I’ve gone through the game using only a few.

Same here. This game really forces you to focus on one build type and stick with it, even though it means locking out a large chunk of the available weapons and abilities.
I just did a respec to a
Black Flame Apostle, which seemed pretty damn close to how I as actually playing anyways. But it allowed me move some points around for better incantations and I had to go get a weapon with bleed since the build focuses heavily on bleed and damage over time effects. Haven't had much chance to play with it yet but hopefully this works for me. I really wish there was a way to use multiple save files to sample a build before i commit one of my precious Larval Tears.

I've been using this with a magic sword in the other hand. It's fun!
Just beat the second main boss.
