S/T is great. For a while it was in my top 3. It's the first PJ album to really capture their live sound.
I have never not liked a PJ album but if what I've heard so far from "Lightning Bolt" is any indication that may change.

Didn't read it but no. While I wouldn't say love, I do really like S/T.

People always blame the bricked sound as the problem but I gotta think there is more to it. personally, I think it's got some good, almost great, songs and a few really embarrassingly awful songs that drag the average down. still, it's got some good songs.

I think it's a solid, albeit problematic record for the first seven songs. Then, it kind of goes off the rails for me.

I love it. Those first 4 tracks are amazing, and then you have "new" stuff like Parachutes, Unemployable, Army Reserve...pretty good album.

I like the rockers plus Parachutes, generally. Loath everything else.
Basically I'd sound more positive taking about individual songs on the album than the album as a whole.

What are these bad songs? People don't like Come Back? I think it was a great song and something really different for Pearl Jam and Eddie sounded great on it. Also an amazing song for live performances. The only song I can think that wasn't a rocker was Parachutes which was awesome and Come Back. And I guess Wasted Reprise which isn't amazing but makes the album feel a bit more cohesive and is so short it doesn't really matter anyways.

Gone, Come Back, Inside Job. Trinity of trash.

I think the songs on the album are all pretty good, minus Inside Job (Gone bores me too, demo or otherwise). I really dislike the production overall though. Often when I'm making a mix or going to listen to some S/T material, I'll look for a live version of the songs instead.

I disagree. The sound and production were terrible, the worst of all of their albums. Yield and No Code perfectly captured their true live sound, and sounded beautiful - ear-boner if you please.

I still think Severed Hand is pretty cool. They need more drug songs.

Eddies voice sounds so strained on this, especially the screamy parts. Kinda almost ruins army reserve and comatose for me.
