The thing with Westeros is that most events happen around the big cities. Harrenhal being centrally located means it’s going to be visited a lot.

And it looks like a melted candle which is always cool.

S1E1 … Daemon is definitely gonna kill the guy who beat him in the jousting tournament.

Ok will check in later after I watch E2.

Correct me if I’m wrong: No mention of Lannisters in that first episode?

I think you're right that there's no mention of them, but I don't recall if there were lion banners at the tournament or not.

My memory is fuzzy, but I think the Lannisters take a backseat for these events.

The Lannisters have a history of staying out of things unless they're not directly involved/threatened. That way they can sit on their treasure until it's absolutely necessary. They were come latelys to Robert's Rebellion until it was clear the Targs were done, right? And they get into it majorly juuuust in time to sack King's Landing and ride off with a bunch of treasure, I assume.

If the events of GOT were the same except Cersei and Jaime were, say, Hightowers and not Lannisters, there's no way Tywin rides to meet Robb Stark's army.

Pretty sure a Lannister took part in the jousting tourney and died in the melee.

I think I like the work of the guy stepping in more than the guy leaving.

Seems odd that GRRM writes all these tough women, but no woman wants to direct this?

Michelle MacLaren was the only female director of the original series and that was only 4 episodes, too

That was pretty badass.

Rhaenera & Daemon.

This family with the 3-headed dragon sort of tells us what's coming, no?
