I probably need more time with this record -- and full disclosure it's the first of their albums I've listened to -- but I'm not sure this is for me.

Take out the 6 interlude tracks, feels like it moves along a bit better.

Ooh, good call. I'll try that next time.

I love the new album as much as any of their stuff, but it's arranged less like an album than a playlist (it was once going to be called "Music For Cars" - makes sense in that context)

also I feel like the current title is revealing in terms of "what it is": notes on a conditional form, a mood board / scrapbook of ideas for an album concept that possibly isn't "finished" - I remember seeing them live at the start of the year (right before lockdown, my partner and I were lucky) and Matty was saying he's still writing stuff he wants to put on it so it'll probably end up super long, and it's being delayed again lol

Forgive me if you've already said this, but which of their albums is your favorite, Ms Harmless?

Their first album has their most accessible songs. It's my favorite so far. Sex, Chocolate, Robbers, Girls are all topnotch.
Also really love their live album that has only been released on streaming platforms.

"Girls" is great musically but I've gone off it lyrically
