tree, you should be banking with USAA. You are eligible. I've been banking with them since 1996. No fees and if an ATM charges you a withdrawal fee, they credit your account back the same day.

I bank with Navy Federal and use them for my mortgage and auto loans as well. Amazing customer service and good rates.

They seem to be growing like crazy. 5 years ago there was one branch in the entire Houston area. Now they are popping up everywhere.

USAA is for military members and their families only. No branches except in Texas, but they have been doing online banking, including photo check deposit, for like ten years longer than most national banks. Great auto insurance as well.
