*No Paramount logo transition and no Indy fanfare at the end of the credits = unacceptable.

*The music was solid. I didn’t realize Williams came back to do it. Much like the Star Wars sequel trilogy, nothing really stood out, however. It felt thin. You could make a case that’s wholly appropriate in matching the tone and themes of the story with Indy a tired, old man at the end of his adventures.

*Seeing Indy go back in time to witness something representative of his life’s passion was a truly great plot choice, as was him wanting to stay in a perfect depiction of his obsession. So, too, was Helena knocking him out and bringing him back to reality to reunite with Marion and finally, perhaps, give up that obsession. I was delighted for the entirety of a sequence that feels like a worthy--albeit sentimental--capstone for the franchise.

*That last “Where doesn’t it hurt?” scene really did a number on me. Instant dust storm in the theater.

*It definitely needed some trimming. After the opening set piece, it dragged a bit.

*Waller-Bridge was great and never felt like an unnecessary sidekick as Shia did in Skull.

*Glad to see Sallah but making him a cliched NYC cab driver felt weird.

*The de-aging didn’t work. I’m fine with doing it in small doses but, until you can really pull it off convincingly, you need to avoid brightly lit scenes and extended, direct shots of the face.
