I think I've unofficially joined the bird club in my 40's. Love going out on walks with the dog and seeing all the birds arounds the trails. I think the woodpeckers are my favorites. They always seem to be up to something. A hawk flew by me carrying a dead snake in its talons; that was cool.

i love seeing birds fly by with stuff in their clutches
there was a pattern last year where a bird like every saturday seemingly would fly over my yard with a fish in his talons
he must have had a nest nearby
i saw an osprey take a baby tuna out from the beach a year or so ago
and have seen them take fluke out a bunch of times
the latter pretty funny bc it's flopping around like they are carrying a door mat
Staying oceanside at Hamilton Island for a few days. We’ve been advised to keep our patio doors closed when not in the room, otherwise a cockatoo will surely trash our room. They are everywhere.

If you are unaware, there's a cool app called Merlin. It has a feature where you can turn on your phone's mic and it'll ID birds based on their call. So far I've found it to be quite accurate.
