My favorite quote from a PJ fan I read elsewhere:

"Josh was the closest thing we had to Dave a in 30 years he did such a great job for him :-) Eddie sounded great tonight the whole band was on fire really impressed hope Matt and everybody is feeling better soon"

Ed did mention a handful of times Matt had COVID and he, himself, had the flu.

He’s not wrong. When he did all those little fills in Alive like Dave used to do, I was thinking “I bet Ed absolutely hated that!”

I was in 106 on Stone's side, and sound was great. When Ed said they were going to do something different, it wasn’t clear what that meant with his voice and Josh filling in on drums. But they pulled off a fun set, storytime, mirrorball getup, Ed bar tending. Hot tea was the MVP followed by Mike. Josh started strong but seemed gassed by the end. PT, ATY, and indifference were highlights for me. Bummed there was no Gigaton; didn’t realize how much Josh was necessary for those songs. I really wanted Jeff to just roll around on his stool all night after he propelled himself to the mic for his ATY backup vocals.

I'll be going tomorrow so curious to see if they keep Josh on drums or something else.

I'm struggling with processing the show from last night. It was show #75 for me and might have been the worst.

The mix was terrible. We were front row of the floor seats, so in directly in between the stage and soundboard. I've sat in similar spots before but man, no bueno.

Ed was still getting over the flu; Mike seemed sick as well as he and Eddie were both drinking tea. Mike definitely went above and beyond, and Eddie did great considering the circumstances.

And no Matt due to covid. As soon as I saw the rumor on the Porch about Josh on drums...ugh. "Barely adequate" hit the nail on the head. I'm amazed at the praise heaped upon this show by some on Facebook and the Porch. I feel like we were at different shows. Josh supposedly knows the first 5 albums by heart? Could've fooled me. His performance felt like a band practice. Noticeable song starts were not hit. Half the endings of songs fell apart or were off. The middle of Satan's Bed was a trainwreck. The bootleg may be rough to listen to.

Kudos to Josh for filling in. A+ for effort. C- for execution.

Please, Matt, be there for the last 3 shows.

I’ve met your sort too many times.

You’ve Simply seen too many shows and are entitled and spoiled.
Not being an ass at you personally but that’s all it is.
No show is ever gonna meet your expectations or criteria ever again you’ve seen the best show(s) you’re ever gonna see.
Duck out now and save yourself the disappointment.

There was a gal on Mike’s side that had a sign stating it was her 150th show and she requested Chloe/Crown on it. He acknowledged her and I would swear he said “next time” referring to her request. Then he signed a tambourine and gave it to her.

And how about getting RVM and Porch in the same show? That’s not happened in a while.

Fun show. Messy at times. As others said, the songs didn’t always end where they normally do. No biggie. They still pulled it off.

This was my 12th show, and while I would’ve loved to hear newer material I was happy with what we got - six Yield songs, Oceans, and Footsteps - hell yes.

They were seated through Present Tense, except Mike. He stood up to solo. We saw people walking past us out of the arena during that one. Maybe they wanted rockers, dunno. I can’t confirm people actually walked out, but it did seem like many were filing out of the arena by our section (110) early on.

If I had one criticism it was Ed talking too much, filling the time, likely. I’m sure he needed to catch his breath tho.

I’m a little worried they won’t play tomorrow night. Here’s why…

The played the longest show of the tour, and the longest encore.

They really seemed to put EVERYTHING into the encore. Felt like another gear to me.

Before Indifference, Ed said - paraphrasing - If we don’t see you again it’s been great. Also didn’t say see you soon. Who knows.

He’s clearly sick and powering through.

Trying to hold out hope, even if we get no Gigaton songs. I could see them playing more Vs and Vitalogy.

Overall, a unique show. Happy to be a part of it.

Meeting and hanging out with wease and mrs wease was fun. Super sweat people. Would definitely hang again.

happy to hear wease and dad fam met up!

cool to hear that Josh was emulating Dave A drum style ... exciting

disappointed to hear he was made to speed up Not For You ... tempo is such a contentious issue for me and contemporary PJ. really is a shame they appear to insist on playing everything faster. similar to TC, a good deal of the strength of Not For You is in the tempo - everyone bugged out at RORHF when Dave K played Ten songs with them at appropriate tempo - and the reason is obvious (they sound better)

hopefully these guys get healthy, you'd hate to see these things get worse

glad at least some people really enjoyed last night

Would be frustrating if these two night stands went down to one, but I suppose that's better than zero.

Another observation:

Boom left the stage after Black and didn’t come back until Crazy Mary in the encore. An almost Boom-free show. He only played three tunes during sit-down and 3-4 in the encore.

Sorry for your condition, but it's hard to be photo sensitive at a rock concert.

Also dave a has already said he wouldn't go back and play. "No thanks" i believe is what he said on Facebook when Matt Cameron was out last year.

Pearl Jam s who they are these days. I'm glad I still enjoy them.
