Seattle would have been choice one because my kids have never been there. That’s the last week of school here. Can’t do it.
I’ve been to all 5 Wrigley shows thus far, but this is during opening teacher days. Can’t do it.
Love MSG, but that’s the first week of school. Can’t do it.
I’d like to get to a show, but it’s looking grim.
I'm in a similar boat here in New Orleans. School schedule makes most of these impossible, and the few I could make, I can't afford to fly and stay there.
In general, how do you travel for shows as a teacher? I can basically never afford it. Does Minn just pay a lot better? I make just over 50k with a Master's and almost 20 yrs of experience. Not trying to find out your salary, just trying to get a sense of how people pull this off.
$50K with that much experience and a masters!? You are grossly underpaid. After 3 years teaching in California, I moved back to Mn and was making $29k in 2003. I have a masters and am in year 24 (it tops out at year 20 though) and make $93k. My wife is also a teacher with a similar salary. I’ve also been driving the same Camry since 2007. I drove a Neon through college up until that. Cars, man…you can do a lot with the money you save driving basic cars with routine regular maintenance.
If I travel for shows, it’s usually just me that I have to pay for, and it’s a quick trip so I bring a backpack and don’t pay for luggage. Chicago is close so it’s either a 6 hour drive or a cheap ticket. When I went to St. Louis last year, I flew in day of, went to the show, then hung out at the airport before catching an early morning flight home. For NYC, I spent less than $500 on a round trip ticket and a room across from the venue. $50k, though…that’s tough.

$92k for a teacher's salary is definitely an exception, not the norm for most of the country. Kudos to you for sticking with it and being fairly compensated.

The Mariners play at home on those Seattle dates so I’m really hoping it is Climate Pledge (formerly Key) Arena. I haven’t been there yet.
Hoping it’s not the football stadium.

So looks like they're skipping the EU cities that got their shows cancelled last year in a very respectful, totally not last minute way. Well, aren't they lovely?

Hanging out in the airport is definitely the way I'd have to go. It's tough for me to drive because my wife and I only have one car. I usually walk to work. Thanks for the info. I appreciate the insight.

They need to figure out stuff like who provides the things on the rider requests. Green M&M’s, tonkotsu ramen, etc.

Maybe they should hire the Tailgate Guru!
This idea may have some legs

One of my favorite PJ memories is sitting in the nosebleeds at Fenway and being able to witness their arrival at the park at 9pm in 2 separate black SUVs like blackwater contractors, one for Ed, one for the rest of the band.

Have to mention that for this show they sent out tweets and emails warning everyone to be at their seats by 6:30 and then they didn’t even arrive to the venue until 9.

They didn’t want to play to an empty stadium what will all the tailgating and such.
