Great show, taking my son made it more fun. Ed sounded great, golden circle had plenty of room which was awesome. Crowd well behaved near me. Encore whilst predictable was still superb. Garden highlight. New songs solid live. Really enjoyed the screens and they were cleaverly used.

Negative to me was merch presale, obviously nothing to do with band but opened advertised for 1100. Get there 10 50. Actually open at 11 40. At 12 45, 5min from finally getting to get something the poster I wanted sold out. Got the other one but I was pissed. 2 hours in line in 33c temp for this to happen.

But didn't ruin my great day.

Clint my man. Great to see you are here and got to the gig!
I got there late so missed out on both posters. I ended up grabbing the show poster from Beyond The Pale this morning.
Agree Garden was awesome to hear. I really enjoyed the encore. Sure classic tunes but really brought the crowd home with them.

That warm weather might have been a bit of change from Tassie weather.
A little cooler than what we copped in Brisbane last week and a lot less humid but was still a hot day to be standing in line.

Great to hear from you Chris Varis told me u were about. Didn't spot u at show lol. I will message u my number if you want to have pre show beer. Varis was keen for beer with you too. Your review was spot on. Did they have the butterfly poster at beyond the pale? Many there?

I saw the message from Varis too late, plus I was way late into town. But I'll shoot you message for a catchup.
I was up in the stands last night. Row T or some shit.

I just bought it online this morning. Went on sale at 9.00. Limited to 100 ( as that is all Pearl Jam will let them sell).
Was 109 with post. Hand signed by artist.

Glad you guys had such a good time, beginning to get excited for Monday.

Might even get to have a beer with a few of you, all going well.

I think I'll give the merch lines a miss going by the reports.

Well if I'm going for a beer, and I don't really drink, then you'll have to pop in as well.
To be honest I have a couple of shirts now and a jumper - as apparently have to own a jumper in Melbourne- so that might do me for merch.
I was thinking of grabbing something for Michael coffeecup man but haven't heard from him. Maybe a skateboard if I can find one. Nearly grabbed one as was plenty at the gold coast show but saw none down here.

Couple of things as I process yesterday:

- Strolled in at 5:45 for golden circle and ended up closer than expecting. Excellent view.

- Traditional Corduroy (no call/response bridge)

- First time all tour Ed didn't wear the 34 jersey?

- Ed was genuinely blown away by the crowd. 50k easily.

- Re: merch - walked out of the venue afterwards to one of eight merchants tents, it had all merch available apart from posters. So if you're just looking for a t-shirt and cap or whatever, do not line up for 4 hours.

- Marvel was very organised.

He didn't wear it at one of the Ohana shows.

This was my intent Monday night. Take it easy getting in and stay back a little. From the view up high last night there is plenty of room in the golden circle area.
Merch stands were easy access after show yes - I grabbed a show shirt on way out. Posters sold out very early from what I was told before the gig.

Marvel is just so good to get out of. Gold Coast was about 30 minutes to get out the gate. then forever to get on a bus or hike it to train station.
Why they play the Gold coast is beyond me. Awful venue to get to and out of and the surf is better on the sunshine coast anyway.

Pretty great setlist all round, actually fairly similar to NYC night 2.
Was 2nd from the front in front of Mike and the crowd behind us was immense.
One of the top shows I’ve been to. Bring on Monday!
Any chance you’d run your ranking horizontal in your signature? I mistake it for a setlist post all the time.
No.

the huge news is he didn’t wear those pants with the zipper knee he’s had on for years.

Monday night will be even easier getting in - a lot of locals will come in later as it is a work day.

Thanks Judd, some good intel here :nice:

I'm not that fussed about merch, and only want to get a poster if there's something I will conceivably actually frame and hang one day. The Auckland one with the birds is the only one that would fit that criteria so far. I've been getting posters for every show since 2006 but this year with two each show it just seems a bit much.

Hopefully Engie takes a leaf out of Marvel's book for organisation but I doubt it - these things are often done better in my dear old Melbourne-town.

Cool to see you gents organising an RM catch-up - hope Monday's show is as good as last night's sounded. Looking forward to seeing LMS and any others in the Circle on Thursday

You know you can turn off all signatures?

I haven’t seen anyone’s signature on here in about 15 years.

We got in about 7 and then stood in a long arse drinks line so missed the entirety of Pixies. But once down on deck it was pretty easy to cruise over to Mike's side and had plenty of space about us for all 8 of us towards the back of GC. Wouldn't want to be in standard GA though.

Monday we're seated and my legs will enjoy the rest I think.

PM me your number WtOB and I'll let you know where we are meeting (once Brisjam and Clint fill me in).

Great show and loved being there with my kids. I'm actually bummed they scratched Something Special for SoLaT as I was there with my daughter and thought pre-show it would be nice to hear it beside her, but really happy we got (a fluffed but still OK) Just Breathe (wife's fave), a great GtF (bro in law's fave), RITFW (mate we were with's fave) and a classic Corduroy to boot.

EWBtCiaST teared me up kinda unexpectedly. Watching my fam all arms aloft "HELLO" in unison kinda did it for me. Not many bands around that can get that sort of reaction from me, but these guys are certainly a-one.

Looking forward to Monday. Hopefully I can cross Release off my list. But whatever, I'm happy enough to go with Ed these days.

Yeah Better Man was the one that unexpectedly "hit me". I teared up.
