I've had this in my head all day. I adore the electric guitar part in the beginning.

Not to repeat too much but as a Xmas single it would have been more pleasant.

I honestly don't get why this song is any more or less unwelcome on this album than anything else (except for FD, possibly).

You know all the arguments for why this shouldn't be here. Previously released etc. It may be an interesting version/alternate take on this track and it's existence is great. the more studio material we have the greater the catalogue. But I feel that it should not have been on the album (I don't think it fits and I don't want other released material re-fashioned on future albums). B-sides, Xmas singles, even just a live version like the ITW track Setting Forth or a random throw-out like Ole. Great, do it but on an album I'd like to get tracks I haven't heard before. And it seems that Bo'B forced this out of the band.

btw, FD as bad as it is at least fits the lyrical arc/theme of this album.

But so does this. I can see this song working well thematically. I commented on that somewhere else.

Stylistically, nothing "fits" on this album. Every song is a vastly different genre to the last one.

I agree, when it breaks down to just Ed and uke it's a nice change. Really highlights a huge dynamic change more than what they could've done with an acoustic guitar. I still retain my stance that ukuleles suck, but a few dozen more examples of it being used as good as here and I may just change my stance.

Its a new song to me. I liked Uke songs a lot. They brought enough to this version for me to consider it different. Im fine with it on the record.

The real terror is having fucking Future Days on this dump

It's not even close to the best song on Ukelele Songs and they just made it worse...

I think it's easily the best original in Ukulele Songs.

My fav was always Without You.

I'm surprised that I'm not even sure which version of SBM I like better now, but here we are.

Goodbye, Satellite, and You're True are all better IMO. And if you count the covers then Sleeping By Myself wouldn't be in my top 5 from the album, no way

I'm OK with it but Of the Earth would have been epic in its place.
