Robby convinces Duke to stick around the hospital after a heartfelt discussion about doing the scary thing because you have to take care of yourself. As he’s ready to leave on sabbatical an ambulance wheels in a trauma victim from a motorcycle accident, no helmet; Robby pulls the sheet back revealing it’s actually him on the gurney. -fin

One thing I love about this show is how well it showcases interpersonal dynamics and moving with urgency. It's kind of a show about a restaurant as much as it is a show about an ER...hear me out.
As a restaurant operator, I see a ton of value that translates to how I try to communicate and understand my staff. Robby worrying about his team and ultimately owning their failures as his own failures cuts deep. Watching tenured vets coach the newbies and adopt the ones they feel will stick around for the long run also resonates. When the night crew came in and insisted that the day crew stay and mop up the mess is also very real. Just a big old prep list in the kitchen that needs to be finished before anyone leaves. Basically this show is just as realistic for restaurant workers as The Bear.

Is anyone else suspicious that Joy is
- Spoiler: show
- a journalist embedded in the ER to write an expose on long work hours and stress in the medical profession?

I’m not sure he leaves. It’s clear Al-Hashimi won’t take over for him. Someone has to run it and if he’s gone there will be no one to do it. He stays, keeps the baby and starts seeing a therapist.

That 3 months off for paternity leave really lined up well, didn't it?

But it’ll be a spin off series because Whitaker ends up staying at his place anyway. Two men and a baby.

I didn’t know there was a mid-credits scene after the finale until I heard someone describe it the next day, and I swore they were joking with what they described. But it’s actually in there.

It was, like, 30 seconds into the credits. I was about to go out if it and heard the music start so just let it play and then the scene started.
