I keep seeing that the 'cartoon' is coming back. was there an actual cartoon, or is language meaningless?

I think they're using the term "cartoon" and "comic" interchangeably, not referring to the 1997 TV special.

I also think that the predictions that new Far Side comics are coming are a bit premature. The first thing I thought was that it would start to be distributed digitally (a new classic one per day?), as that's never happened before.
