Yup. Glad you liked it, Doc and Chloe.Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:Ill give this a try, but i don't usually have a ton to say about what im listening.
#1 Jason Molina - great moody start. I don't listen to his stuff and i know that is terrible, he is one of the many on this mix that i will be checking out now.
#2 i don't know this one, but i love it, the piano and guitar sound so pretty together. This song works well with the opening track
#3 another one i don't know. This might be considered alittle dull or boring, but there are a lot of "boring" songs that i love, and this one is getting there. The guitar soloing if you wanna call it soloing really makes this song.
#4 Elliott Smith - this song reminds me so much of another song that i can't put my finger on. I love that there are are no instruments, just vocals. Is it all Elliott?
#5 don't know this one either, and this is the first of many female singers, which i really don't listen to enough of. Staying really mellow with this one, just piano and singer, really nice.
#6 another one i don't know, more mellow with another very good sounding female singer, mostly with piano and picks up nicely near the end
#7 Sufjan Stevens - such a pretty sounding song about such a terrible subject. Sufjan is another that i need to give more time to, love his stuff
#8 Ben Harper - i listened to this one like 3 or 4 times and managed to not realize this was Ben until chloe told mejust Ben and a guitar with a bit of drums... More mellow and i love it
#9 chloe told me who this was but i forgot already, i love this one though, i will be downloading more for sure. A bit more upbeat then the first 8, the singers sound so good together and those strings are really nice in there
#10 Beck - not familiar with this song but im always a fan of his voice, and not sure if that is a sitar (sp?) but i love it.
#11 don't know this one but im pretty sure I've heard the song a few times before, this one works great to pick it up from the mellow start
#12 yeah yeah yeahs - love this song but have never really listened to them, i will change that
#13 sleater kinney - WHY DON'T I STILL LISTEN TO THEM ? I will fix it
#14 don't know this one and i can't decide how i feel about it, i won't say i don't like it but its not really my thing these days
#15 johnny cash - hurt - so good and a great closer
This mix is really nice, i think i listened through it about 6 times and its definitely gonna open me up to some new stuff and revive my love for some I've gotten away from
I asked a few pages back and was either wrong or it was overlooked, but is Zeb the dj here?

Make sure to get teeth from devil whale, its a fantastic album, and as far as Dr dog, everything from fate to b room are great albums from beginning to end, easy beat is good and the earlier stuff is much different from what they are currently doing and not as easy to get into, but still some nice tunesdsb1218 wrote:That's a fun mix, Doc.
