the fact that Mike Viola produced this and is around Ryan had me less than enthused for the new album.

Ryan Adams has announced the Halloween-appropriate Vampires 7", which will be out on October 28 through his PAX-Am Singles Series, as Consequence of Sound points out. Check out the tracklist—which, honestly, could be a little spookier—below. It follows Adams' self-titled album, which came out just last month.

The S/T was a surprisingly good record. I was at the Royal Albert Hall show back in '13 when he busted out Shadows for the 1st time and I thought it was immense. I had no idea if it was an old track I'd missed or something new. When I found out it was new, and the Ethan Johns sessions were being scrapped, I was a little disappointed as I thought it meant that would be the last of it - yet he retained it for the new record.

I did like Rats in the Wall from 1984 but the rest does seem a little unnecessary. It also sounds better played on acoustic, live - proves that it's a proper song, just played very quickly and with low production values on the record.

He filed which is strange. I'd be interested to hear what went wrong there.

I could see Ryan and Jenny being a train wreck but awesome while it lasted. They seem pretty similar.
