well, i hated that festival for years for its shitty line-up (and because of the annoying throng of tourists that invaded my neighbourhood when i lived there) but this year is by far the best they've come up with since maybe the 90s when the tickets were 30$ (for the whole festival). this year it's 70 bucks so i guess it's pretty cheap considering i might see The Black Keys, MGMT, Bad Religion, Emmylou Harris, Dr. John, Belle and Sebastian, Amadou & Mariam, Jon Spencer, Alpha Blondy, Voivod plus many great artists/bands from Québec and France that some of you probably don't know about that are just as good...

They both suck pretty badly.

People down here eat it up man. This is the second year they are doing the fest for our newly built park/ampitheater on the gulf. I'm glad to see stuff like this coming here after 8 years of post katrina gloom and nothingness but man the execution is lacking big time.

yeah, what's the deal with people down there and those types of bands?? every time i go home to visit mississippi and pop on the radio in my parents' car, or go to a bar, it's just a dearth of unintelligible music pummeling my head.
