thats b/c you are lazy. i just dont why you act like smoking pot and exercising are mutually exclusive. you'd probably be a lot happier about your place in life if you exercised a little bit.Dev wrote:90 minutes seems a little excessive for mewarehouse wrote:if you want a real high you'd smoke weed after exercising for 90 minsDev wrote:shit I have reverted from life affirming exercise routines to copious amounts of cannabis

Re: The Work-Out Thread
I actually have been exercising almost daily for like a week. I just lift weights though. was considering buying some running shoes and spending some time on a treadmill, but now I am getting busy with school so we will see.
and I don't think they are mutually exclusive

im not going to lie, my gym is fairly basic, 5 elipticals, 2 stair masters, 5 treadmills, 2 arc trainers and 3 stationary bikes. various benches and machines, and dumbbells, cable crossovers, 2 squat racks, a hack squat, 2 leg presses, and a few other machines.turned2black wrote:In an attempt to get out of my funk, I have joined an expensive gym. the 43 i spend per month is a god send. i had a home gym and would wake up in the mornings to work out, then realized hey i can do that at night, then id say, ill just start tomorrow....

Re: The Work-Out Thread
After a few days off with a cold I got back in the gym tonight and picked it back up pretty good. Turned my upper arms and shoulders into jelly there for a little while.
I've always been a skinny guy and haven't put on any weight but I'm starting to put on a slight winter belly bulge. Tells me I need to start back the treadmill like I keep saying I'm going to do. It's not as noticeable in the spring/summer when I'm more active. That and maybe as I get closer to the 40 mark I should start watching what I eat better. Actually start eating my vegetables for a change. I have a light appetite but my diet leans on the meat & carb side.

Re: The Work-Out Thread
With 2 young children and a long commute, my free time for workouts has been greatly reduced. I consistently worked out 4-5 days a week, for a full hour of lifting and random off days of cardio.
In perfect circumstances, I've resigned myself to squeezing in 3 days of lifting (40 min max) and one day of cardio, and hoping some of DIY projects/housework gives me a little benefit.
My current lifting schedule focuses on complex muscle groups doing these exercises: squats, bench, deadlifts, overhead presses, bent over rows, and ab work as time permits.
My cardio is 3-4 mile outdoors jogs on the weekend.
I'd like to squeeze one more day of dedicated exercise in. Interested in yoga. Or just tossing in one the P90x dvds.

Anyone interested in starting some kind of running streak? Say, at least 4 miles a day? Outside... inside... doesn't really matter. Anyone?

Re: The Work-Out Thread
While it's not as strenuous as everyone else running, I just got in a 15 minute walk at work. I've been trying to get at least 50 minutes or so of walking each day while at work as well as taking the stairs all the time rather than the elevator. I've also been walking some in the evenings and what have you. I had gained about 20 pounds over the last 14 months or so since moving to a desk job. I had started some light running a several months ago and lost about 10 of those pounds, but then I started having a lot of back pain and quit exercising for a while. So I gained that all back, and now I'm trying to ease my way back into it while also losing some weight with a better diet. Down about 5 lbs so far.
