This past episode was a let down only compared to the previous ones but I still liked it. Less action but great dialogue; doesn't have to be shoot up & tense all the time, even there was some of both. Really looking forward to how it wraps up the next couple weeks.
There will be a season 3 but no details were announced. It's only drawing about a 1.2 in the ratings.

Past episode a letdown? Bland? You guys are crazy. This is one of the best seasons of TV ever.

Yeah, I'm digging this season. The only thing that bums me out is that they had to force-start this Dodd-in-the-trunk plot.
Ted Danson had to not go into the house after he woke up outside the house, which of course he would do. Even if he gets the call that says that the police station is under siege, he would have gone into the house he is next to that was just under siege and had an innocent woman in it. Of course he would.
And then Ted Danson has to stop Patrick Wilson from chasing the husband when he runs off in the woods. Which OK, "they know where's he's going." But why does it matter if you know where's he's going if you don't go there.

Last night's episode was just fucking awesome. So many great moments and awesome scenes, transitions, etc... it's hard to nail just a few. Two more episodes left to one of the greatest TV series seasons ever.

I loved the two sequences where Peggy zoned out, once when talking to Dodd thinking he was the self-help dude, and the other where she got caught up in the old TV show

I thought this, too, but in last night's episode, they did get to the house, just right after the butcher and peggy had left. It could be just that they were close enough, and the Butcher made it to the house faster, cutting through the woods or something.

And the whole "he's going crazy down there by the lake" dialogue was a nice little homage to the original movie. Perfect little thematic connection

Wow. Talk about coming back with a bang. That episode was amazing! Sets the finale up so well!

I really liked this one too, especially everything at the cabin. They've been among my favorite scenes so far. Kristen Dunst's loopiness gave her a chance to shine and the Butcher's been great in a role that's not designed to be too showy.
I expected them to close to black before the shootout, the tension of the approaching cops was too short lived. And why the haircut?
I have no idea where these last two episodes are going but it has been so much fun to watch so far.

The knife through Dodd's foot was a nod to Blood Simple; and last week's murder in the woods, with the victim pleading with her killer, was a nod to Miller's Crossing.

Dodd running into the tree after they let him out of the trunk and Peggy struggling to get TV reception were homage to the original movie too I thought. Also Hanzee talking to the store clerk reminded me of No Country for Old Men.
