Nexstar is looking to buy more stations for something like 1.6 billion. the problem is that will put them over the threshold of 38% (i think that is the number i saw) of total stations owned in the country and is currently not allowed. by getting one of the sitting presidents vocal critics off the air this will gain favor of the FCC to allow an exemption.

the fact that fox can say on air that homeless people should be put to death and no one bats an eye but kimmel users charlies own words should tell you all you need to know
