Always those 6. I'm replacing 2000 Pedro with 1999 Pedro. Maybe with the better winning percentage WhatIf will deem him good enough to start.

I noticed that when I went SP heavy last tournament. I don't know what criteria it uses, but it decided who I could select as a starter and who would come out of the pen. Did you draft Pedro in a later round?

And the answer to that is no.

I noticed it when I tried making a staff of all starters, but it seemed to give me different options when I reloaded. That's fucked up.

So the order you add then to your roster in isn't making a difference, is it?

I had drafted Pedro as my second pitcher but I switched him to the first spot which is labeled strictly as a started and it still keeps him in the pen. I tried dropping Tiant and picking up Okajima instead and instead of adding Pedro to the starters it added Lowe.

Weird. Drop a couple of relief guys and see what happens.

I don't know why it wouldn't put the six starters with the highest value as your options. Pedro has to be at worst second in terms of value there.

Yup. I'm toying with replacing some of the starters in my pen with true relievers to see if it makes better decisions that way.

Yeah I had to drop Lowe for Okajima and Tiant for Timlin and now I got a 6 man rotation of Young, Ruth, Grove, Lee, Clemens, Martinez.

That just seems odd that in those circumstances it wouldn't just opt for the six guys with the highest monetary value.

Or why doesn't it just let me pick?

So guys, if you are planning on stocking your bullpen with starting pitchers, make sure to check and see which six it's gonna allow you to use as starters.

As a heads up, if this keeps growing (which I hope it does), I may have to appoint a vice-commissioner to fill in for me and run simulations if there are ever days when I can't.
